Atlanta, GA, March 28, 2017 鈥 樱花直播 (樱花直播), an international honor society dedicated to highlighting the accomplishments of students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment, announces today that a junior at the University of Alabama, has won a $5,000 scholarship from The Intern Group. The Intern Group is a leading provider of international internship programs in London, New York, China, Europe, Australia and Latin America. The scholarship covers a 6-week internship program in summer 2017 at any of The Intern Group鈥檚 international program locations.
An economics major, Alexa plans to pursue a career in policy research and implementation or sustainable development. She chose Melbourne, Australia, as her program destination because of 鈥渢he location鈥檚 rich history in human rights and extensive opportunities for people passionate about change.鈥 Alexa will not only intern with a non-governmental organization or a non-profit organization, but she also plans to add community service opportunities to the internship program in Melbourne. Alexa explains that 鈥淭he Intern Group would now be using their resources to provide not only career opportunities, but also sustainable community improvement internationally.鈥
"Alexa was everything that we look for in an applicant," said Kirstie Weston, who led the final selection process for The Intern Group. "She was motivated, positive and open-minded. Her passion for making a difference shone through and we felt that this opportunity in an NGO in Australia would be a natural fit in helping her to launch what is definitely going to be a very successful career."
